Blaine Lake Seniors Centre The Blaine Lake Seniors Centre has been a hub for community activities for over 50 years! The centre is run by a board of dedicated volunteers. Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism (SSM) is a province-wide network dedicated to improving the lives of older adults across Saskatchewan. This organization unites seniors groups throughout the province to research key issues, advocate on behalf of seniors, and connect people with helpful resources and services. Through collaboration with member organizations and community partners, the Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism works to ensure seniors have a strong collective voice and access to the support they need to live well.

Age Friendly Saskatchewan Age Friendly work is guided by eight key areas of community life: Outdoor Spaces and Buildings, Transportation, Housing, Social Participation, Respect and Social Inclusion, Civic Participation and Employment, Communication and Information, and Community Support and Health Services.

In April,2026, Blaine Lake Town Council passed a resolution to pursue an Age Friendly designation for our community. This initiative is part of a provincewide effort to make communities better places to live for people of all ages, with a focus on the needs of older residents.

Together, these areas shape the day to day experiences of residents. Progress in each one helps ensure that people can live comfortably, stay connected, and access the support they need as they age.

Blaine Lake joins a growing number of Saskatchewan communities on this journey. Residents who would like to learn more or get involved are encouraged to contact the Town Office. Additional resources are available through the Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism and the World Health Organization Age Friendly Communities program.
